Our menus are designed to offer flexibility based on your timing needs:

  • Last Minute Pick-Up Catering Menu: This menu includes a limited selection of items that can be ordered the same day for pick-up at Luigi’s, located at 1359 Hartford Avenue, Johnston, RI. We require a minimum of 2 hours’ notice, and orders must be placed by 3:00 PM.
  • Next Day Catering Choices for Pick-Up or Delivery: This menu offers a broader range of items available with one day’s notice. Orders for delivery require a $150 minimum and must be placed by 4:00 PM the day before. Pick-up orders need to be placed by 8:00 PM the day before.
  • Advanced Notice Catering Menu for Pick-Up or Delivery: This is our full menu, featuring the complete list of catered items. Orders for pick-up or delivery must be placed by 12:00 AM, two days in advance.

At Luigi’s Catering, we sell trays of food by the pound because trays come in various dimensions and hold different amounts. Selling by the pound allows for more precise portioning based on the number of guests you are serving.

To help you determine the right amount to order, our website provides serving size suggestions for each item, including the number of pieces or ounces per pound. We also outline the different tray sizes, how many pounds they can hold, and how many servings you can expect from each tray.

In the image below, you’ll see an example of how to select the quantity of pounds needed. For instance, if you require an 18-piece tray (6 pounds), you would enter “6” in the quantity field to order the corresponding amount. Use this information as a guide to ensure you order the right amount of food for your event.

Answer: No, our pasta sold by the pound is different from a one-pound box of dry pasta you might buy at the store. The weight we refer to is the finished weight of the cooked pasta, including the sauce. For comparison, one pound of cooked pasta with sauce is approximately equivalent to 1/5 of a pound of dry pasta.

Here are our guidelines for how much pasta to serve:

  • Main Dish: 12 to 16 ounces per person.
  • Side Dish: 6 to 8 ounces per person (2-3 servings per pound).
  • Side Dish with Another Pasta or Starch: 3 to 4 ounces per person (4-5 servings per pound).

These guidelines should help you determine the appropriate amount of pasta to order based on the size and type of your event. If you have further questions, feel free to reach out!

Answer: We recommend not holding hot catering food for more than an hour to maintain its freshness and quality. To ensure the best experience, it’s advisable to schedule your pick-up or delivery time as close to your serving time as possible.

For your convenience, we offer all of our dishes either “Hot” (ready to serve) or “Take & Bake” (allowing you to heat the food at your convenience). We also provide detailed heating instructions for every dish, which can be found in the “Heating Instructions” tab on our website.
